Everyday black blazer!

Thankfully the weather is finally behaving itself in Kolkata and its now time to take out your blazers and jackets. Today im gonna show you a simple way to work your classic black blazer on an everyday basis. A black blazer is a must have for every fashion conscious individual! pair it with a plain color blocked tank, a tee-shirt if your the sporty kind or the classic shirts!

The blazer is from a Canadian brand SUZIE'S but the good thing is that you get black blazers everywhere. you just have to make sure that the fit is right. Vero Moda and MANGO almost always have a black blazer in store. The jeans are Old Navy and the top is Chemistry.

Shoes: Forever New

 Bag: Accessorize

I kept my face simple with just some eyeliner and mascara. stretching it out a little to give that flare, and my favorite lipstick Mehr (MAC) .

Indian Weddings #1

Who doesn't love Indian weddings! Vibrant, flamboyant and so full of color! Today I had to the pleasure to get a very close friend of mine ready for a shagan party. Since the function is close friends and family only the look is easy to do yet pretty!

The beautiful suit she is wearing is from FLEUR  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fleur/158063324398582?ref=br_tf her own brand that houses a range  of chic ethnic wear.
Her makeup is kept natural, with  light smoky eyes, nude lips and mac bronzer on her cheeks. With a face like that you don't need too much makeup! The trick her is to keep it simple, and look effortlessly pretty which Ridhima Chawla is a pro at! Keep the wow look for the wedding day or say the reception, where you go all out, let someone else shine for day eh!

For accessories, you can never go wrong with bangles at an Indian wedding! Along with that she wore peal drop earrings. Ridhima chawla you look gorgeous!

The White Shirt! #1

The classic white shirt, need I say more! I'm sure each one of us own at least one of these beauties in our closet and if you don't, go get one today! It's a staple that is life saving.. whenever you're unsure it comes to the rescue, and a well fitted white shirt looks good paired with almost anything!

The one I'm wearing here is from Old Navy paired with pants from my own label (MFT). Another things trending is the oxford shoe, the ones I have on are from Call It Spring. The bag is Accessorize and the earrings are from Goa.

I'v kept the makeup to a minimum. For that dash of color I have on a Revlon colorstay lipstick in the shade 075.It gives off a light orange hue that complements my look for the day. My hair is tied back- what i did was i made two french braids on either side, pulled them back and formed a sort of messy knot. It keeps hair off my face and also looks uber chic!

Maxed out denim ;)

Playing with the two hottest trends of the season- maxis and denim shirts and jackets. This is a fairly easy look to do. Pick any colored or printed maxi and team it up with denim jacket or shirt.
This silhouette elongates the body and makes u look taller. You can also add a belt to it.
I kept the look simple with bangles and kolapuris. For the makeup a simple winged eyeliner and pink lips will do. You don't want mascara running down your face in this heat!

Ryan Vernon Peterson collaboration! (werk that gown!)

Long silhouettes are becoming more of a rage each day! So me and Ryan Peterson collaborated and did shoot showcasing a wine-red gown. I was shot and dolled up by the very talented Ryan himself. He kept the look subtle enhancing my eyes and contoured my cheekbones. I have a two step picture process of how he did it, but its a trick that one has to master so I'll be sure to take you through it more thoroughly once I figure it out myself ;p

The gown is a simple boat neck gown with a slit and is from my own upcoming label. This look oozes elegance so Ladies make sure you save this for a special day!To complement this formal look I wore pearl drop earings, silver ring from Chamba Lamba and heels from Done by None!
Also don't forget to check out ryan's face book page https://www.facebook.com/#!/rvpphotography for more picture of his latest endeavors. He truly is the best at this!

Peplum fever

Peplums are so in right now. Dresses, tops, skirts, they are everywhere. And the best part is girls of all shapes and sizes can wear it. You need serious talent to go wrong with this style! The top is from my own upcoming label, and I paired it with a simple black pencil skirt for my Friday night out. One thing you can do is colour-block, but do it only if you think the colours go together.
To complete the look my very talented friend_Ryan Vernon peterson _ did my makeup. I have on crosswires by Mac on my lips, and the eyes only Ryan can do! :)
Keep the accessories simple. Studs will do complete justice to the hair and make up and the outfit needs nothing else.

Like the queen!

I don't know if u guys agree but I personally love that whole Victorian vibe some outfits give. Although I can't find the skirts I'm going to talk about here in Kolkata, I am sure going to get one made. The best part is you can wear them to anyplace. Anytime of the day and they look fabulous.
Now if u think u will get away with a mini which is puffed up-ur wrong. The skirt has to be knee length (classy and chic).
You can pair it with a crop top, tuck in a white shirt if its printed or block colored or even just wear a loose tee tucked in.
Now these images are just some that I was inspired by, but I'll be sure to take on this trend and show you how to work it soon.

Rockin that LBD!

This is an impromptu post and wine is working its way onto the keyboard on a late friday night! ;p
I just spotted this hottie _Steffie Kingham_ rocking this hot hot hot LBD. Now beware ladies, if you're well-endowed (like me) you wanna stay away from this kinda dress, but if you're not then go for it headfirst! give that plain old LBD a twist. The best part is that the cutout back needs no accessories, all it needs is oozing confidence and a dazzling smile on those pretty puckers!
She paired them with black heels, safe choice but then again the dress is so hot that u need nothing else. she could be walking barefoot and I wouldn't care :p

The denim shirt - day to night!

We all have those days when we work all day and crave that tall glass of wine with our girls at night, but the pain to decide what to wear. Ugh. So I'm gonna show you how i wore the denim shirt (which is so in right now) all through the day and to a Friday night party too!

For the day look I had my hair up and my rayban's on -Two musts on a hot summer day. Now a trick thing to do is the denim on denim. Make sure the colors are dark and light. Two same kind of blues might not work. Hence I chose my alltime favorite shaded black/grey jeans.

Now for the night What you basically need is a little glam! I paired my shirt with a black pencil skirt. Pop colored lipstick is an essential for that added oomph.  im wearing a Mac lipstick called 'flat out fabulous' _ It's a purpleish pink that works great with the shirt! another option to dress this outfit up would be a gold belt!

Beat the heat!

Everyone hates Kolkata summers. You never know what to wear out.  What I'm wearing here is something that I just threw on. Its that 'save me' outfit. The few things that just cannot go wrong.
I am wearing an american eagle top with a low cross back perfect for that hot summer day (lots of ventilation you see :p) the jeans are from Suzy's.
Colored moccasins are a hot favorite right now. Super comfortable and chic at the same time.
Chunky accessories in this heat are a big nono so I went light with my favorite silver bangles.

How to's on makeup coming up soon. :)

That Friday night dilemma!

Our biggest dilemma is that Friday night party- "I can't wear jeans again!!" So here is a simple look that can save your night. Its effortless and chic and almost anyone can pull it off.
You start with picking out a dress with a very basic cut. A bodycon (like this one) is perfect.
Now since this dress is black and white It needs that pop of color. Since red is too cliché I went with this darker shade of maroon from MAC called diva. And along with that some smokey eyes .
Since my model (cum best friend) Roshni  has beautiful hair I just curled it and blow dried it to add that volume. And keep the accessories low key. Just a rock on those nicely manicured fingers will do :)

The first impression :)

After a whole year of apprehension and contemplating, I'm finally here. The first step is always the toughest they say, and I know what they meant now. So I'm going to start off by telling you a little something about myself. I'm 19 years old and have always loved fashion, ever since a kid. I remember trying on our guest's heels at kitty-parties and styling my self on my 5th birthday; but It took me an entire year after high school to figure out that fashion is what i should be doing! I'm sure there are plenty others like me who have immense interest in fashion, and that is where my job begins. My blog is basically about my personal style and how you can make simple changes in your wardrobe to look and feel better each day :)
